Do I need to have a computer to attend KOLP?
Yes, all Lincoln Interactive courses are web-based. Each student will be issued a laptop that includes software needed for coursework.

A high-speed internet connection is needed.

We provide curriculum for Kindergarten through 12th grade students.
Can students enroll at any time of the year?
Enrollment applications can be submitted anytime of the year, but students are encouraged to begin their coursework in the fall.

Cost
How much does the program cost?
As a program of a public school district, there is no tuition. A technology fee of $25.00 is all that is required. However, students and families will be responsible for providing some consumable materials and supplies (such as printer ink and paper)
Curriculum and Instruction
What are the backgrounds of the teachers?
All teachers are certified and highly qualified in their content areas. Teacher biographies can be found on the website.
Do the courses require textbooks?
Textbooks are available online for free. If a student wishes to purchase a hard-copy textbook, the family is responsible for purchasing the book.
How is physical fitness taught?
Health and wellness courses are available to secondary students. Families will need to provide and document different types of physical fitness activities.
How is music taught?
The Kansas Online Learning Program offers several music courses; families may substitute music lessons or join local music groups and activities to receive the requirement.
How often do students get feedback?
Virtual School Teachers will primarily communicate with students via email. For daily assignments, students will receive feedback within 24 hours of a five day school week. Projects will require a couple more days to assess. Additionally, teachers' office hours are posted online.
Graduation
What are the graduation requirements?
Kansas Online Learning Program students will follow the same graduation requirements as the state of Kansas. Students need 21 credits to graduate. The student will receive a diploma from Centre School District.
Are students involved in state testing?
The Kansas Online Learning Program students will state assessments at designated testing sites. Parents/guardians will be responsible for proctoring daily assignments and end-of-unit tests. All final high school course assessments will be proctored by the Student Learning Advisor.
Who issues the diploma?
Students will receive a Centre Public School diploma.
Will a graduation ceremony be held?
A graduation ceremony will be provided for seniors and their families.
Extracurricular Activities
Are there any opportunities for social interaction among the students and families?
The Kansas Online Learning Program will provide activities for parents and students to meet face-to-face throughout the year. These are not mandatory events. The information sessions also provide a wonderful opportunity for socialization and meeting new families with the same interests.
Will students be able to participate in sports and band?
Students are encouraged to visit with their local community school about participation in team sports and band. Families are encouraged to join local organizations that provide these extra-curricular activities.
